Ada Lovelace

Ada Lovelace was born in 1815 in London, England as the daughter of a famous poet. She is known to be the first computer programmer. Growing up with no formal education or university, she learned from private tutors like Augustus De Morgan who was the first professor of mathematics at the University of London. She became interested in her friend Charles Babbage's prototype of a calculating machine, and after getting very good at note taking and annotating, she developed the first computer program. She invented this program a century before the first computer was actually invented. She was not only important to the development of computers, but also an inspiration to women in the field.
